Amy PSN and XBLA survival horror game getting patch?
Can developer VectorCell salvage AMY?
Have you been waiting for an AMY patch?
AMY has been out for quite awhile now and has received some of the worst reviews of just about any videogame in recent memory. I've included some video reviews from some major videogame review outlets so that you can hear them complain about how horrible it apparently is.
Yesterday VectorCell posted a Facebook status update on their AMY page stating:
"Hi all.
First of all, sorry for our silence those past weeks. The team were working for you and we didn't want to communicate before making sure we'd be able to deliver. Not all of your suggestions have been taken into account, but many. We should be able to announce some good news with more details soon... Thanks a lot for your patience."
Could patching AMY make it a better game?
This entire situation is reminiscent of what developer Dark Energy Digital attempted. They had released their game Hydrophobia to poor reviews, then did a massive overhaul of the game with a patch even going as far as renaming the game Hydrophobia Prophecy and discounted the game to half off. If it resulted in a better game is debatable, but the fact is they have since announced that they are closing their doors. Could VectorCell be next victim of the "small developer post review patch of doom curse"?
