OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion "Gatekeeper" feature to lock down and control user freedom even further by default
OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion will include a new feature deemed "Gatekeeper" by default this feature will not allow Mac users to install software that didn't come directly from Apple's own Mac App Store.
It's no surprise really, Apple has a long running track record of locking down, locking out choice and freedom from their consumers. Be it fighting users from legally using their own property as they desire, like when they fought and continue to fight legal jail-breaking. Not allowing their OS to run on non-Apple manufactured PCs even though their computers and software are now x86 based following the failure of their PowerPC architecture. Even making their mobile device's batteries non-serviceable to the end user. Other non-Apple devices you can buy a cheap battery and replace it yourself for under $20 and five minutes in most situations. With Apple devices you must ship your property to Apple and pay exorbitant prices, $79 as of this posting for a 4th gen ipod touch or iPhone. Don't forget the $6.95 shipping plus taxes, oh, and the fact you won't have your iPod/iPhone for the duration of the shipping, replacement and then shipping time back to you. All this and you are allowing your personal and professional data to be an open book to any Apple tech that touches it.
Gatekeeper will allow even more Orwellian control of their user base, even incubate more paranoia and distrust of the rest of the industry. "If Apple doesn't trust them, maybe I shouldn't either" twisting further the blind obedience that is the corner stone of the Mac mentality. As of this time the Gatekeeper feature can be turned off manually by users with the know-how, but this might just be the first step in a complete lockout for their desktops following the examples of their iDevices such as the iPod, iPhone and iPad lines. It's possible they are just testing the limits of control, how much they can restrict user choice before their is a backlash from their customers. Historically, it has been proven that their users don't need nor want choice or freedom, I suspect this test will be very successful and yield favorable results for the iOverlords.

Persona 4 Arena coming to America!
Persona 4 Arena will be published in America on 360 and PS3! Thanks Atlus! Altus usually treats us pretty good over here in the states. But this begs the question, when will Persona 5 be coming? Atlus's puzzle game Catherine was a test of their new current gen 3D engine, a new Persona game using that tech would be awesome.
Lets hold our breath together ok?
